VoIP PREPAID BILLING SOFTWARE
Using VoIP, an enterprise positions a "VoIP device" at a gateway. The gateway receives packetized voice transmissions from the calling party. The Cisco AS5300 then prompts the caller for their PIN number, the entered value is then passed onto the Radius server which performs the authentication once confirmed, sends a request back to the Cisco AS5300 requesting that the caller now enter the destination number. The information is then passed to the VoIP Software Module enabled EngageIP Billing Software product which in turn matches the call number, rate and prepaid time left for the customer, to it's internal rate table and passes the information back through Radius to the Cisco AS5300. Finally, the initial process is complete and calling party is informed of their current prepaid balance and rate of the requested call then connected to his/her destination.
While on a prepaid call the Cisco AS5300 will use the attributes that were passed on from the Radius Server to count down the call usage time, and will alert the caller based on pre-defined intervals of time remaining. If the call timer reaches a value of "0" the caller will then be disconnected. However, if the caller disconnects prior to their time running out, the Cisco AS5300 will send the final attributes to EngageIP Billing and OSS which logs the call duration and rate. These values are then used to adjust the balance of the pre-paid account.
In regards to the prepaid functionality, LogiSense Corporation offers the EngageIP Prepaid Billing Module which must be installed if you are planning to offer this service to your customers.
